Writing Workshop Masterpost July: A morning at the pool
Hello, dear people. I've started doing a writing work shop with a few of my friends and will try to post my result here every month. I have no idea what the fics will be about since we take turns picking prompts. I hope you'll have as much fun as I do!
“Jisuung.” Oh god. He wants something. Minho always gets that specific tone when he’s about to ask for something he knows Jisung would otherwise turn down. Damnit, they just had breakfast with the others. Jisung was hoping for a quiet day in bed and a movie or two, but he highly doubts that’s what Minho has in mind. Minho wouldn’t use his please-I’ll-do-anything voice for being lazy in their hotel room. Jisung looks up from his phone, finding Minho kneeling on the bed right next to him and looking at him with a way too sweet smile. Mr. resting-bitch-face is up to something big. Fuck, this is going to be a tough one.
“I told you, I’m not holding your phone while you video call your cats. Get a tripod or something.”
As expected, the joke breaks Minho’s façade a little: he rolls his eyes “First of all: how dare you? My children will hear about this. Secondly, that is not what I was going to say.” Jisung raises his brow but decides to believe him. One horrible request is off the list, thank fuck. Feeling generous now that he knows he won’t be used as a stand, Jisung puts his phone aside. Whatever Minho has on his mind can’t be that bad, right? “I would like to go hiking with you.” Boy was he wrong.
“No.” And just like that Jisung is back on his phone. Fucking hiking. That’s what Minho is using his persuasion tactics for? This is supposed to be a little vacation for their group to get some rest after the tour. They came here to relax with their friends not to walk around without an aim for hours on end. How Minho ended up with hiking on his list of hobbies is beyond Jisung’s comprehension. Isn’t fishing already boring enough?
“Please?” With that Minho is back to his cute smile and honey dripping voice and Jisung can already feel his resolve crumble a little under the weight of Minho’s warm eyes.
Jisung groans. No, Minho is not going to wear him down on this. “Can’t you go with someone else?”
“I want to go with you,” Minho stresses and takes Jisung’s hand into his. “Isn’t it obvious? I want to see you move your sweet ass up the mountain.”
Does he really thing compliments are going to help him with this shit? “Chan-Hyung has a sweet ass too.”
Suddenly, Minho breaks into a laugh. Oh fuck, his laugh is way more effective at softening Jisung’s heart than all of Minho’s persuasions. “You want me to go hiking with Channie-Hyung and stare at his ass? Did you really think that one through?”
Okay, yes, well played. “I did not,” Jisung admits while starting to laugh himself.
“Does that mean you’ll come with me?”
For fucks sake, Minho. “No, it’s boring and I hate moving.”
“It’s relaxing!” Minho tries to argue. It’s cute when he tries to convince Jisung of doing physical activities with wildly inaccurate opinions like that.
“If you think very hard you might be able to come up with a relaxing activity that doesn’t require us to go out into the middle of fucking nowhere.” For emphases, Jisung lets the fingers of his free hand slide along Minho’s thigh. Minho hitting his arm cannot stop Jisung from grinning. Considering the amount of time Minho spends with his hands on Jisung’s ass, he should really be able to take a dirty joke.
“Okay, how about this: You go hiking with me and when we get home again, I’ll make you a chocolate cheesecake.”
“Now we’re talking.” Jisung puts his phone down – it’s not like he had been paying attention to it anyways – and leans into Minho’s space. “When you say chocolate cheesecake do you mean chocolate mixed into the creamy part or do you throw chocolate chips into a regular cheesecake?”
Minho blinks at him. The little smile on his face tells Jisung Minho knows exactly he’s about to win Jisung over. Honestly, a chocolate cheesecake might just do the job. A little trip with his boyfriend can’t be too bad anyways, right? “I was going to make a regular cheesecake but with chocolate crust and put chocolate glaze over it.”
Fuck, that sounds good. “You’re a genius.”
“I’m aware.” Minho grins and leans even closer. “So do we have a deal?”
Jisung ponders on it for a moment. He still thinks hiking is going to be boring as fuck. Besides, he’d definitely prefer staying in their room, having dinner with the others and watching a movie together afterwards plus maybe some relaxing activities. But Minho seems really insistent on this. Maybe hiking will be somewhat bearable together with him. Plus, the cheesecake sounds amazing. Why stop at one cheesecake though? Minho might even agree to two if Jisung plays his card right.
“I don’t know…” Jisung turns his head to the side, away from Minho.
“Please?” Minho places his hand on Jisung’s cheek, turns Jisung’s face towards his own and puts on that same sweet smile again, which makes Jisung feel weak in his knees even if he doesn’t want to admit it. “We could watch Spirited Away afterwards, you know? Please Jisung…” Yeah, okay. He can’t say no to Minho’s smile. Jisung tries to lean closer and kiss Minho but is stopped by a hand on his chest. “Answer first.” Of course Minho wouldn’t let his guard slip.
“Okay. I’ll go.” Minho beams at Jisung before going in for the kiss. Yup, this is a good deal. Cheesecake, Spirited Away and a content boyfriend, what else could Jisung possibly need?
🏔️🏔️🏔️
“I should have demanded way more than a fucking cheesecake,” Jisung grumbles while fanning himself with his – Minho’s – shirt. Obviously he put on Minho’s shirt for this. He’s not going to get his own clothes sweaty for Minho’s nature kink.
“Come on.” Minho pats Jisung on the butt before continuing on without mercy. “Get your act together, we’re almost at the summit.”
Asshole. Why did he want Jisung to come along so badly? He really should have known Jisung would only slow him down. “You say that like we won’t have to go back home after that.”
“Well, we can spend some time at the top and rest a bit. That’s kind of the point, you know? Relaxing, enjoying the view and all. It’ll be nice, I promise.”
Yeah, sure, nice for Minho. “Not if I die before we get there. You’re way too fast for me.”
Jisung doesn’t have to see Minho’s face to know he’s rolling his eyes. Pretentious country folk. “Crybaby.” And now he’s insulting Jisung too. Really, Jisung should just turn around and leave. But he doesn’t have the energy for that and would probably get lost on the way back, so he quickly ditches that thought.
“Can’t you give me a piggyback ride?”
Minho turns around and raises his eyebrow at Jisung as though he just said something crazy. It’s ridiculous for him to react that way. By now, Minho should be used to far more obscure ideas. They’re part of the all-inclusive deal of being in a relationship with Jisung. “You’re too heavy.”
“Oh come on! Why the fuck do I date a person who willingly spends time at the gym if they don’t even carry me?”
“Are you saying that you want me to stop going to the gym?”
“Don’t you fucking dare!”
Minho laughs at that and finally stops. He turns around and beckons Jisung over. As soon as Jisung is close enough, Minho grabs his shirt and pulls him in for a kiss. It’s surprisingly sweet after all the bickering. Usually Minho just slaps his ass or gives him a quick kiss on the cheek after an “argument” like that. Jisung enjoys the little treat though. He lifts his hands to Minho’s hips and pulls them closer together, which lurs a little giggle form Minho.
After a while Minho ends the kiss and leans their foreheads together instead. Jisung sighs contently when Minho suddenly caresses his cheek. “Just a little longer. Okay, baby? I promise the sight is worth it.”
A little grin tugs at Jisung’s lips. “Maybe I like the sight right here better.”
“That’s it. I’m going alone.” Without any bit of hesitation, Minho turns around and starts walking again. As though their kiss never even happened. What a dickhead. Just when Jisung thought this trip was getting nice.
🏔️🏔️🏔️
“What a sight.” Minho beams while looking out into the mountain range. Finally, after what felt like a small eternity to Jisung, they arrived at the mountain top. After all the hassle, Jisung feels obligated to follows Minho’s gaze. Despite his earlier reservations, he has to admit Minho was right about the nature. He lets his eyes wander over the jagged mountains, the deep green conifers filling the valley, the lush grass underneath them and the little flowers scattered across it like stars in the night sky. Jisung has never seen anything like it. And he had no idea air could be this fresh. He closes his eyes and fills his lungs. Soft gusts of wind caress over his skin like silk. Jisung takes another deep breath and feels his entire body relax. Maybe Minho was right about that part. When Jisung opens his eyes again, Minho still looking at the nature. His smile is so bright as he enjoys the sight in front of them. Honestly, seeing Minho this content is really making the strenuous way up here worth it.
“Usually you say that while looking at my butt.”
Giggling, Minho turns away from his beloved sight and looks at Jisung. “And I mean it.” Minho pulls Jisung closer and kisses his cheek – the one in his face – before tugging at his hand. “There should be a table up there. We can take a break and eat lunch.” Jisung lets Minho pull him along. Sure enough, they soon come to an old wooden table with benches on the sides. The whole thing looks a little shaky from years of being exposed to the elements, but Jisung figures it will survive a simple lunch. He sits down on the bench cross-legged and watches Minho unpack everything. At the very least, his boyfriend had the decency to carry all their food since he already talked Jisung into this exhausting trip. Jisung hadn’t realized just how hungry he was until he sees the food.
Jisung doesn’t know whether it’s the exhaustion or the breathtaking view, but the food tastes incredible. He leans his head onto Minho’s shoulder as they enjoy their lunch and the view. Sadly, they’re soon done eating and Jisung is already dreading hiking all the way down again. “Can I take a nap here?”
“No. I know your type of naps and I’d like to go back to the hotel before it gets dark.” Jisung would love to protest, but Minho does have a point with that. Which doesn’t mean Jisung is about to give up.
“You’re so damn cruel. You’re really going to make me go home without a nap?”
“Unless you feel like staying here all by yourself.” Damnit. It’s useless, Minho isn’t going to agree to a nap. Of course, they’re going to stay here for a while longer, but Jisung doubts the bit of rest will charge his batteries enough to survive the descent. How can Minho still be so unbothered? It’s like the hiking didn’t phase him in the least. No, Minho has energy for two. Jisung smiles when an idea hits him. He holds onto the table while moving to straddle Minho’s lap and sitting back on his thighs.
“What are you trying to pull?” Despite his obvious suspicion, Minho holds onto Jisung’s waist and gently caresses Jisung’s sides.
“I’ll earn myself a piggyback ride home,” he announces with a grin. Minho may be good at persuading Jisung, but the same is true the other way around.
“Not happening, Jisung.”
“You say that now…” He’s about to kiss Minho when he feels something wet on his back. For a moment he considers if Minho tried to purr water over him, but then more and more drops seem to land on his body. “Is it seriously starting to rain now?” Jisung glares up, finding a dark grey cloud right above them. “We should find somewhere to take shelter.”
“Knew it,” Minho mutters while squeezing Jisung’s butt. “Your ass is made from sugar.”
Jisung sighs. Shitty weather isn’t enough, of course Minho has a dumb comment to add. “That remains the worst pick up line you ever pulled and excuse me for not wanting to catch a cold.”
“Relax, I’m sure it will pass soon.” Of course, Minho stays completely unaffected. He pulls Jisung closer and nuzzles his face into the crook of Jisung’s neck. “Whatever happened to earning your piggyback ride?” Jisung tries to ignore the rain and go back to kissing Minho, which seems to work for barely a minute. The occasional rain drops become bigger and bigger and more frequent until a cloudburst breaks down on them and drenches them to the bone. They gather all their stuff accompanied with muttered curses of ‘What the hell.’ and ‘Fucking shit.’ As soon as everything is inside their backpacks again, they make a run for a group of trees, hoping that it will keep at least some of the rain away from them.
“That much on ‘It will pass soon.’ Fuck!” Jisung tries to shake off the water, which proves rather useless. They’re completely soaked. “What do we do now?!”
“Sit here and wait?”
“Are you fucking kidding me?! I knew we should have stayed in the hotel.” Jisung crossed his arms. Hiking sucks by itself and now they’re stuck up here in the rain? Shit. This is what he gets for not being able to tell his boyfriend no. Stupid handsome face and sweet smile.
“Maybe we should have checked the weather forecast…” That idiot really didn’t check the weather? Jisung can feel Minho’s gaze on him, but he refuses to turn around. Minho sighs behind him. Suddenly Minho’s strong arms wrap around Jisung’s body and Jisung finds himself trapped in a hug with Minho pressed against his back. “Baby, are you mad at me?” Yes, Jisung most definitely is.
“You’re going to need way more than Spirited Away and a chocolate cheesecake to make up for this bullshit.”
Minho hums in thought and snuggles even closer. “Ponyo and a chocolate cheesecake?”
“No, you idiot. Howl’s Moving Castle and a chocolate cheesecake.” Jisung can’t help but smile when he feels Minho tremble with laughter behind him. Fuck, he can’t be mad at his boyfriend when he’s adorable.
“This certainly explains why we saw so little people on the way up.”
Jisung groans. “How come we never realized that?” Now that Jisung thinks about it, it really should have struck them as weird that not a single soul was up here.
Minho leans over Jisung’s shoulder to kiss him on the cheek. “I’m sorry, baby. Next time I’ll definitely check the weather forecast. Now come on, if I remember correctly there’s a hut a bit further down the path.” They shoulder their backpacks and get going hand in hand. As though this shit wasn’t enough yet, lighting starts to flash in the distance. Just great. They go from walking to running, which makes Jisung’s hood bounce around his head. He laughs as he grabs it and tries to keep it in place while running behind Minho. More and more water splashes around his feet as they run, but at this point it really doesn’t make much of a difference.
Luckily it doesn’t take too long until a wooden hut comes into view. The final spurt towards it drains the little bit of energy Jisung still had. They almost crash into each other under the roofed over entrance. Jisung leans his head against Minho’s shoulder and tries to catch his breath again, which is difficult when both of them are laughing. With all the noise and his eyes closed, Jisung almost misses the rattling of the door.
“Closed,” Minho comments with a pained laugh.
“Of fucking course it is.”
“Stay here.” As if Jisung even considers moving. He leans against the closed door and watches Minho snoop around, lifting the doormat and pushing potted plants around until he triumphantly raises a key in the air. “Knew it!”
Jisung raises his arms and cheers as he watches his boyfriends unlock the door. They trudge inside and get rid of their backpacks. “By the way, are we even sure this is legal?”
“Would you prefer going back into the thunderstorm?”
Just in that moment, another lightning flashes outside. What a nice way to avoid decision making. “Fuck it. We’re staying.” Jisung throws the door shut.
Minho laughs before grabbing Jisung by his jacket and pulling him into a kiss. It feels a little like kissing in the shower with how wet they are. Except they’re usually far less dressed when they shower together. Minho pulls away with a smile. “I’ll see if we have towels or anything here.”
Though a little hesitant, Jisung lets Minho go and starts to get rid of his soaked clothes. There’s a small table pushed against one of the walls with three chairs around it. The perfect place to spread out their clothes. Hopefully they’ll dry until it’s time to leave.
When he hears footsteps, Jisung turns his head only to freeze right away. Minho is staring. He doesn’t bother with being subtle in the least. Well, Minho never does. Especially not if Jisung is almost naked. Minho fucking grins and wiggles his eyebrows at Jisung when their eyes meet. “There we have the sight again.”
“Shut up, give me a towel and get out of those clothes you’re going to catch a cold.”
“So demanding,” Minho complains. He gives Jisung one of the towels and slaps his ass as soon as his hand is free. Jisung wraps himself up in the towel and returns the favor of blatant staring while Minho sheds his clothes.
“Oh what a sight,” Jisung mimics his boyfriend, laughing when Minho starts to make a show out of it. Minho puts on an exaggerated sexy expression while stripping down piece by piece. In the end Minho even throws his shirt over to Jisung, who catches it and starts clapping. “We should get caught by rain more often.”
“I don’t need rain for this.” Minho grins before putting the towel around his shoulders. “We should probably let the others know we aren’t coming back any time soon. With how much it’s raining, we probably wouldn’t make it home before dark.”
“You’re planning to stay?”
“I could imagine worse than spending a night in the mountains with my boyfriend.” Minho places a kiss on Jisung’s cheek before getting his phone. They quickly call Chan to let him and the rest of their friends to tell them everything is fine and that they’ll return tomorrow before slipping into bed. There’s no wood to make a fire, so they snuggle up against each other underneath the blankets. Because he’s so tired, Jisung feels sleep clawing at him faster than usual. He fully wraps himself around Minho – almost like a koala – and closes his eyes.
“Good night, cheesecake-maker.”
Minho chuckles quietly. He sounds tired too. Very softly, he runs his hand through Jisung’s hair and kisses his forehead. “Good night, my favorite view.”
🏔️🏔️🏔️
Jisung groans and tries to turn away from the light that stings in his eyes. It’s way too early to wake up. At least, Jisung supposed that. He has no idea what time it is. What he does know is that he isn’t even close to being rested enough to get up and hike down this fucking mountain.
“Minho, can you close the curtain or something?”
Minho unlocks their legs and removes his arms from around Jisung’s waist. For a moment, Jisung thinks he’s actually going to stand up and close the curtain until he hears a low, rough voice from beside him. “You’re free. Go do it yourself.”
“Asshole.”
“Love you too.” Jisung pouts when Minho does a kissy face into his direction with closed eyes. Fuck, the asshole is cute and Jisung still can’t say no to him. Jisung immediately misses the warmth and comfort of the bed and Minho’s embrace when he gets up. Damnit. Just hurry and close the fucking curtain.
Jisung has already grasped both of the curtains and is about to pull them close when his gaze falls out the window. Is this really the same mountain range they saw yesterday? It looks like an entirely different world. The mountains emerge from thick layers of fog. The sun is just peaking out from underneath it, coloring everything in a beautiful pink-orange glow.
“Minho!”
“No.”
“You wanted to get a view so come here and look at it!”
Minho grumbles and rolls out of bed while keeping the blanket around himself. Of course, Minho would never willingly abandon the warmth of the bed. He waddles over to Jisung. He can barely keep his eyes open against the sunlight, but obviously he’s immediately able to locate Jisung’s ass and give it a firm slap before stepping up behind him.
“Woah…”
“Yeah.”
Minho brings his arms around Jisung from behind and wraps both of them up in the blanket. A little smile dances over Jisung’s lips while he snuggles back into Minho’s body. This is what heaven has to feel like. It’s so peaceful in this cabin. Everything is quiet and bathed in the golden sunlight of the morning sun.
“Maybe, but really just maybe, hiking wasn’t a bad idea after all.”
“Oh?” Minho places a soft kiss on Jisung’s neck. “Does that mean I don’t have to bake that chocolate cheesecake after all?”
“You don’t have to, you should want to. You still forced me to hike and caught me in the rain, you know?”
“I’m deeply sorry.” Minho sounds sly, amused, smug and anything but sorry, but Jisung can’t be bothered to get annoyed by that. There’s something soft and magical about the moment, about the scene stretching out in front of them like a door into a whole new world.
“Is this real?” Jisung whispers while letting the tips of his fingers dance over his forearm. “It doesn’t feel real.”
“Starting reality check.”
Jisung yelps when Minho suddenly pinches his ass cheek. “Ouch! Asshole!”
“No actually, that’s a bit more to the left.”
Jisung blushes. “Shut up. Please just shut up.” Of course Minho only grins stupidly when Jisung slides his hand into Minho’s neck and yanks him into a kiss. He’s a fucking idiot, but Jisung would give him or his weirdness or his stupid plans for anything in the world.

Dopamine Chapter 8
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter
“I hope you know I’m an indoors person,” Jada mumbled as she walked behind Bakugou. “I don’t do well in the elements.” The pair were deep in the mountains of the Koburi Pass, trekking up the remote hiking trail. She clicked her tongue as she looked down at her Timberland boots, careful not to step in any mud. She still couldn’t believe he had managed to drag her out into the wilderness on this so-called date.
“I knew you were high maintenance but I didn’t peg you as a priss,” the hero huffed as he stomped ahead, looking over his shoulder.
“Hey, I ain’t no priss. I just don’t see the point in roughing it and getting dirty when our ancestors worked so hard not to be.”
Bakugou rolled his eyes as he pushed a tree limb out of their way, “Don’t try to make it a noble thing. The fresh air will do you some good.”
The ravenette clicked her tongue as they continued making their way through the brush. “If I didn’t know any better I’d say you’re luring me away to death to hide my body out in the woods.”
“Are you saying you trust me?” The blonde asked with a smirk.
Jada rolled her eyes, choosing to ignore his comment. “Where are we going anyway?”
“You’ll see.”
The two continued to hike through the wilderness in a comfortable silence until they reached a small clearing. Just ahead was a tall cliff, easily 10 stories high. Jada tilted her head up as she tried to see the top, Bakuogu interrupting her thoughts.
“We’re here.”
“What do you mean we’re here?” She gaped at him, motioning to the rocky barrier in front of them. “It’s a dead-end!”
“We’re rock climbing stupid,” Bakugou grunted as he took a knee and pulled his backpack off of his shoulders, taking out its contents.
Jada crossed her arms in defiance as she sat into her hip. “You must be stupid if you think I’m climbing that.”
“The only way around is up and I ain’t carrying you.” The hero hummed as he began tying the safety ropes together. The ravenette didn’t budge, her emerald green eyes staring down at him.
“Fine, I’ll leave you here and let the animals and “elements” deal with you.”
Bakugou’s idle threat hung in the air between them for a moment before Jada finally relented, waving him off with her bare hand and a heavy sigh, “You’re lucky I’m in between sets right now.”
“That’s what I thought,” He chuckled smugly, pulling out a harness from his bag. “Now come here and let me get you hooked up.”
Jada begrudgingly approached him, watching him carefully as he worked. After a moment, he lightly patted her thigh uttering a command.
“Spread ‘em.”
“I would say you should take me dinner first but that would be a moot point.” The dark-skinned beauty smirked with a raised brow.
The hero chuckled as he helped Jada step into the harness before pulling it up in place over her wide hips. He carefully adjusted the steps making sure she was secure.  “How’s that feel? Not too tight?”
“It’s good.”
“You ever done this before?” Bakugou hummed as he attached her safety line to his harness.
“Do I look like I’ve ever done this before?”
He rolled his eyes at her sass, clearly, she was just nervous. “You’ll be fine. I know you’re not afraid of heights.” He bit his lip as his thoughts went to her heavenly body twirling high upon a pole at the strip club. Unfortunately, Jada also caught his distant look, knowing exactly what he was daydreaming. Bakugou cleared his throat as he looked away, preparing the last safety measures before starting their descent. “Just one foot and hand at a time.”
With a deep breath, Jada reluctantly nodded her head, walking up to the intimidating 50-meter high wall. Carefully, she placed her boot on the first nook she could find, hoisting herself up. Alright, so it’s not as hard as I thought. She continued to climb, quickly finding a rhythm, her upper body strength giving her an unexpected edge.
Bakugou smirked to himself as he watched her climb, following suit. He knew she had it in her. If she could lift and hold herself up on a pole by squeezing her thighs alone, she could climb a rock wall with no problem. The pair continued to climb in silence for a few minutes until the hero finally spoke up, “Not bad, Dimples. Maybe one day you’ll be half as good as —”
Bakugou looked over to his side expecting to see Jada’s long black locs, but was met with nothing but open air. What the fuck… He looked around feverishly but there was no sign of her. Could she have fallen? He didn’t feel any weight on her lead rope. He called for her, concern growing in his voice with each passing second, “Dimples? Dimp- Jada?!”
“What are you hollering about?”
Following the sound of her voice, Bakugou looked up above him. There at the top of the cliff, was Jada Jackson. She stood with her hip cocked to the side, looking down at him from her perch. Even from this distance, he could tell that she was quite pleased with herself. How the hell did she get up there so fast? “I turn around and you’re gone! How about some heads up?” he barked as he clung to the side of the rocky cliff.
The dark-skinned beauty only giggled at his comment, turning on her heel before tossing her long locs over her shoulder. “How about you keep up?”
Clicking his tongue, Bakugou quickly climbed the rest of the way up, not wanting to be shown up any further. Hoisting himself over the edge of the cliff, he was met with Jada’s smug face, offering him a hand. With a playful roll of his eyes, he took it, admiring her guts to take him on.
The hero then took off his climbing gear, before helping Jada do the same. His eyes and  fingers lingered on her skin, and she was quick to notice. “See something you like?” Before he could answer, the ravenette backed away with a confident smile, leaving the hero where he stood.
Making her way further down the path, Jada continued to tease the blonde, purposefully swaying her hips with every step, until her timberland boot slipped on a wet rock along the trail. Even as she tried to catch herself, her ankle rolled causing her to fall over and into dirt and brush, “Oh fuck!”
“Oi! You alright?” Bakugou yelled as he rushed over to her aid. The woman was now flat on her ass, wincing in pain.
“You mean besides eating shit while just trying to walk? Yeah, I’m just peachy.” Jada hissed as she brushed off the dirt and mud from her arms and legs.
“You should be more careful!”
“I told you I didn’t like the elements! I am an inside person!”
The hero sighed as he kelt down, taking off his backpack, “Alright stop your bitching and let me look at it.” with the softest touch, he took her ankle in his hands. Carefully, he rolled it slowly as Jada grimaced in discomfort. With a nod, he tenderly let her ankle back on the ground before standing, “Okay, so it’s not broken or you’d be screaming bloody murder. I’ll wrap it up for support and it will be back to normal in a day or two.”
Bakugou helped her up to her feet before taking his backpack from the ground. Instead of placing it back on his back, the blonde wore it on across his broad chest before turning his back to the woman expectantly. Jada stared at him for a moment unsure of what to do. “What are you waiting for?! Hop on, I ain’t got all day!”
Finally, it clicked that the hero was offering her a piggyback ride. She scoffed as she slapped her sides with her arms in frustration. “Try using your words next time! I ain’t no mind reader!” Carefully, Jada climbed onto his back. Her long chocolate arms draped over his shoulders while his strong calloused hands gripped her thighs. “You better not drop me,” she grumbled under her breath.
“Don’t squirm and I won’t.” Bakugou stalked up the trail in silence for a while as he carried her effortlessly. Even out here in the 80-degree heat, he could still smell her jasmine perfume lightly caressing her skin. With her this close, his mind instantly went to their first meeting; the feel of her soft skin against his; The sound of her quiet moans ringing in his ear. Shaking off those thoughts he scoffed to himself, “I can’t believe you dance every night in 6-inch heels only to roll your ankle in fucking boots.”
“I’m not dancing on loose and wet rocks!” Jada argued, turning her face away from the hero. “You’re talking a lot of shit for a dude that begged me to go out on a date with him.”
“Tch. Whatever.”
The pair continued forward with only the sound of crunching leaves and twigs under Bakugou’s feet between them. The ravenette sighed as she resolved herself to taking in the scenery of their nature hike. If she wasn’t such an inside person, this view would be quite beautiful. While she took in the sights of the lush trees, a warm and familiar scent reached her nose. Is that… sugar cookies?
Before she could question the scent further, a small cabin began to come into view at the top of the hill. It wasn’t long until they reached its front door, Bakugou pulling out a pair of keys from his backpack, unlocking the door. Very carefully, he walked her inside, letting her put her weight on his shoulders. Once they reached the kitchen, the hero lifted the woman easily to sit on the kitchen counter before disappearing into another room, “Be right back.”
Jada looked around the small cabin, taking in the subtle decor. It was cozy and inviting, adorned with rustic flannel and neutral colors. Honestly, it looked like something out of a magazine. “So this place is yours?” she asked as the blonde came back into the room.
“Yeah. I stay here pretty often. Whenever I want to get away and recharge.” Bakugou hummed as he approached the woman, crouching down on one knee. “Now let’s see about this ankle, you klutz. Lucky enough for you, I’m with a hero who has a pretty extensive first aid kit.” He shook the first aid kit in his hand while flashing a cheeky smile.
“Does that mean you get hurt a lot?”
The hero scoffed to himself, before looking up at her with ruby red eyes, measured and sure, “It means I never run from a fight.”
Fuck, don’t look at me like that. I’m still mad at you. Jada bit her lip as she looked away from his gaze.
“There,” He chuckled as he finished wrapping her ankle in an ace bandage. “Maybe now you’ll stop falling for me before you really hurt yourself.”
“Is that really the best line you could come up with?” Jada huffed, crossing her arms.
“It must be pretty good, Dimples,” Bakugou smirked, resealing the first aid kit, “You’re smiling.”
“You’re insufferable.”
 “I call it persistent.”
Bakugou slowly stood to his feet, before reaching one hand behind her to rest on the cool tile of the countertop she was perched on, effectively leaning over her. “Come on, Dimples,” he cooed in his trademark rough voice, entrancing her. With her full attention under his sultry gaze, he brushed his calloused fingertips down her warm brown thigh, before sliding his hand underneath her knee, gently lifting her long leg up to rest on his hip. “This needs to stay elevated and I know the perfect way to pass the time.”
Jada took in a breath as she looked up at the blonde hero, their lips inches away from each other. Her mind wanted to resist out of principle but her body wanted him in the worst possible way.  What are you doing to me, Blasty?
Fuck it. Finally, she closed the gap, their lips connecting in a fiery passion. Wrapping her arms around him, she pulled him even closer, wanting nothing between them. Bakugou returned the favor, skillfully moving his lips against hers before letting his tongue softly trace her bottom lip, silently asking for entry.
Of course, Jada complied. The hero hummed as his grip on her leg tightened as he began to explore the inside of her mouth. Their tongues wrestled for dominance until she finally relented, a soft moan leaving her throat.
“Mmm, that’s a good girl.” Bakugou breathed against her full lips, as he continued to mold himself to her. Taking his hands from her body, he reached down to his pants, unbuttoning them. Just as he was about to push them off his hips, the ravenette placed her hands over his, stopping him. “What’s wrong?” he asked, a confused look on his face.
Jada paused as she looked up at him, searching for something in his fiery red eyes she couldn’t quite name. Finally, she turned away, shaking her head, “Nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“Yeah…” Her voice trailed off as she nibbled on her bottom lip.
“So are we doing this or…” Bakugou watched her for a moment, but her eyes never returned to him. He knew she had something on her mind. “Spit it out, woman!”
“You hurt me!”
“Huh?” The hero quirked a blonde brow, unsure of what she meant. He hadn’t even touched her.
“I’m the baddest bitch there is and you hurt me. That’s saying a lot.” Jada confessed as she looked him square in the face, Bakugou instantly taking notice. “Look it’s obvious that we have chemistry and I’m into you. I said I’d give you another shot after you showed your ass at the club but... I still don’t trust you.”
The dark-skinned beauty could feel her face heating up in her embarrassment. She couldn’t believe she was being this honest and candid with her feelings. With this man she barely knew. Taking a deep breath, she continued in a soft voice as she dropped her gaze, staring into her lap. “I have to protect myself. I’m not sleeping with you again until you can prove to me that this is real. I’m no one’s dirty secret and I’m nobody’s fool.” Finding her confidence again she lifted her head, her emerald green eyes locking with his.  “I need no man, hero or not. If you can’t hang with that then it was nice knowing you I guess.”
Bakugou crossed his arms as he took in everything that she said. He should have known he wouldn’t be able to just pick things up where they left off before that fateful night. Of course, he would be in the doghouse. If he was being honest, it was that fire that drew him to her even after all of that drama.
With a heavy sigh, the hero rebuttoned his pants before running a hand through his ash blonde hair. “Look, as fun as it was, I don’t need sex to function like some punks and I get why you don’t exactly trust me. But I need you to get one thing straight.” He paused as he walked around and behind the kitchen island where she sat, Jada turning and craning her neck to follow. “I’m not some schmuck you can string along for kicks. That said... I am interested, so I’ll pursue.” He then leaned forward and across the island so that his lips were next to her ear as he whispered, “But I won’t chase.”
Jesus Christ, why are you so sexy? Jada did her best to hide her smirk from the blonde, refusing to give him the satisfaction. He’s the one that should be begging and salivating, not her.
“I’m hungry,” Bakugou said as he clapped his hands, effectively breaking the sexual tension in the air. “Let’s see what I have here.” With a huff he began to rummage through his cabinets and refrigerator until he whipped together a quick lunch. “That will do. Here,” he breathed as he slid a plate across the kitchen island to his date.
“PB&J?” Jada quirked a brow as she picked up the simple sandwich.
“Yeah, something I picked up from the states,” He said as he took a bite. “Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.”
Jada hummed as she took a bite herself. She had eaten more than enough PB&Js in her life. In a way, it was somewhat comforting. “So you lived in the states for a while?”
“Yeah, I was there for about a month for a mission. It was alright I guess,” the blonde paused as he grabbed two bottled waters from the fridge. “I’m surprised you left when most Japanese people would kill to live in America. ‘The land of opportunity’ and shit.”
The land of opportunity… the dark skinned woman hummed to herself as she took another bite, a soft sigh escaping her lips. “Yeah, maybe for some.”
“What do you mean?” The blonde questioned.
Jada paused as she looked over to the man. He rested his forearms on the countertop as he watched her carefully, sensing her sudden change in demeanor.
He really has no idea. She took a deep breath, unsure why her words came so freely from her mouth, when for years she kept silent, “My mom couldn’t afford to go to college so she started working at McDonald’s after high school. Minimum wage didn’t cover rent so she started stripping. Then she got pregnant with me and whoever my dad was didn’t stick around. With her growing belly and stretch marks, she got less and less tips dancing, so she started hoeing to keep us afloat.”
Bakugou set down his sandwich on his plate as he stood up straighter to listen. He could tell that her words were not easy for her to say.
“After a while, the stress and shame of that got to her. Really messed her up,” She paused, fighting that familiar tingle of her nose. “She started self-medicating with prescription drugs and heroin. She ODed when I was 13. I wound up in foster care and the cycle continues.” Jada chuckled dryly as she took another small bite of her sandwich, unable to meet his eyes. “So… you can say the land of opportunity didn’t do us any favors.”
“Hm,” Bakugou hummed simply as he looked at the ravenette intently, stroking the stumble on his chin, “So you…”
Jada looked up at him with a puzzled look until she finally understood where his question was leading. “No fool! I just dance,” she scoffed as she crossed her arms. “And I’m clean too.” She paused, a flash of heat rising to her cheeks. “Fuck, I don’t know why just told you all that.”
“Well,” the hero breathed as he tossed his now empty plate into the dishwasher. “I won’t pretend to know what that’s like. But it’s still not enough to scare me off. I never back away from a challenge and you, Dimples,” he paused, giving her a sly smirk, “are one and a half.”
The ravenette chuckled to herself as a familiar warmth rose to her cheeks. She turned away from his gaze on instinct but Bakugou knew he had hit his target. Fighting a soft smile, he gestured to her half eaten sandwich, “Finished eating?”
“Yeah.”
“Then let’s get you back down the mountain. It will take longer with you on my back.” He tossed the rest of her sandwich in the trash before putting the plate into the dishwasher, turning it on. “Ready?”
“I guess so.” Jada stretched her muscles for a moment before she looked up to see the hero slowly saunter in front of her between her legs once again. He licked his lips while he looked her up and down, a smug smirk forming across his face. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“No reason,” he shrugged. “Just thinking about how sweet victory is going to taste when you finally say yes to me.”
Jada rolled her eyes playfully as she smacked his broad shoulder, “Don’t get ahead of yourself, Blasty.”
Bakugou laughed as he turned around before hoisting the cynical ravenette onto his back, “Please. I’m inevitable.”

the ilvermorny exchange (4)
part 4 | index | masterlist

You and your friends are excited to go to school overseas, but a certain blonde prefect has decided to personally make your exchange year suck. You decide to give him a taste of his own medicine. (draco x reader, enemies to lovers, female reader) words: 5,795 (these keep getting longer and longer lol) A/N: GANG we’re back. lol sorry this took a long time i have worked it all out tho now. also you’ll be happy to know there will be one more part after this, and it will be out this weekend! get hype. taglist: @tragically-cordelia @mhftrs @2pumpkin-pasty @gingerlouisgirl @seriouslynotfunny @clockworkherondale @cherrie511 @songforhema @marvelrose
Your two-week winter break at home seemed to drag on forever. While you were certainly excited to be back in your own bed in your own house, eating your mother’s delicious home cooking, you were having the familiar feeling of missing something. It always came on when you came home for breaks. Living at a boarding school and having roommates nine months out of the year had you used to constantly seeing people, and being in your empty house with only your parents was a lot less action and excitement than you were used to.
That, and you were thinking about what a certain blonde British boy was doing on his vacation.
By the time new years had passed, you were bouncing off the walls ready to get back to Hogwarts. On January 5th, you all met at Ilvermorny to take the portkey back to Scotland.
“Alex! Merry-Late-Christmas!”
“Aw, Merry-Late-Christmas to you, too!” She responded as you embraced.
“Hey, we’re both wearing our necklaces! Cuteeee.” You pointed to the matching golden disks around each others necks. They had an engraving of your zodiac signs, that were charmed to move. Alex’s fish that represented Pisces swam in slow circles across the disk.
“Best idea we’ve ever had.” She stated. “You excited to get back?”
“Uh-huh,” you said, trying to sound casual. “I’m prepared this time. Mom sent me with a bunch of cookie recipes.”
“Fuck yeah.”
After giving more post-holiday hugs to the rest of your exchange group, you all grabbed ahold of the portkey and landed on the Hogwarts Express station like last time, where Hagrid was waiting yet again. On the carriage ride over, you were nearly vibrating with excitement and nervousness all at once. You and Draco hadn’t exchanged letters at all over break, so you weren’t quite sure how your first meeting was going to go. You’d agreed it would be good to make it seem like you’d called a truce on your aggressive fighting around other people, but you weren’t sure how that meant you could say hi to him once you got there. A wave? Just a smile? Maybe nothing?
It seemed you would have to wait until later. Other students were also arriving, and the castle was bustling with people running to their common rooms and reuniting in the halls. You and the rest of your friends dragged your bags up to the west towers towards your tapestry. After a bit of unpacking and changing back into your Hogwarts robes, you made your way down to the hall for dinner.
“Alex! Y/n!” A group of familiar voices called. You and Alex turned around on the moving staircase to see the trio running up to you.
“It’s HHR!” You and Alex said, pronouncing the acronym like “her”.  Hermione grabbed the both of you into a hug before either of the boys could.
“Did you guys have a brilliant Christmas?”
“Yes! Look at our necklaces.” You brought yours up for her to look at and she ooh’d.
“Oi, I want a hug,” Ron complained. Alex squeezed both boys, lifting them clean off the floor as she hugged them. Your hugs were more gentler.
You all walked into the great all together, Ron and Harry telling a tale of something that happened at the Burrow over the break that involved family Quidditch. You were mostly tuning it out, your eyes scanning the Slytherin table across the hall for a familiar quiff of bleach-blonde hair. You frowned, wondering how you could be missing him when he had such a distinct-
There. Storm grey eyes caught yours, and the distance between the tables disappeared. You couldn’t help the smile that broke out across your face, and he didn’t hold back his either.
The moment was gone too quickly. Alex grabbed your robe sleeve and pulled you into the seat next to her, your back to the Slytherin table. You tried to settle down, barely fighting off the urge to turn back around in your seat just to get another look at him. Merlin, what had gotten into you? Barely a month ago you would’ve been glad to not see him for a whole meal, and here you were, sat with your friends at the dinner table while the ghost of his hands pressed into your back. You took a deep, clarifying breath, and made yourself focus.
Dumbledore made his announcements. You all filled up on roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy, and the mince pie you’d gotten to tolerate. Once or twice you turned around under the guise of stretching your back. ...Maybe three times.
When dinner was over Harry invited you and Alex back to the Gryffindor common room to hang out. You both agreed, and you promised to come as soon as you finished unpacking. Back in your dorm, you pulled off your cloak and tie to change into a more cozy sweatshirt. When you sat on your bed to change into some pants, you heard a crunch.
“What the hell?” You lifted up you thigh and pressed on your robe. The crunch came again. You felt around on your robe and dug a hand into the pocket, coming up with a folded square of parchment. There, in familiar looping cursive, was a note that read ‘Meet me on the fourth floor behind the lake tapestry at eight’.
Heat rose in your cheeks. That sneaky bastard! You quickly shoved the note back under your uniform and put on your leggings.
“You ready?” Alex’s voice made you jump.
“Uh, actually, I might pass,” you said, feeling a little bad as you lied. “I think I ate too much and I just want to lie down. Or maybe take a walk,” you added quickly. “Tell HHR I said sorry.”
“Alright, I hope you feel better.” Alex kissed the crown of your head and left the dorm. You checked your watch- it was already seven forty-five, and you had a tapestry to find.
You waited what you felt was a sufficient amount of time to put distance between you and Alex before heading out. You turned another corner, scanning the walls with your eyes for a tapestry with a lake. When was Draco going to figure out that this castle was too damn big for such arbitrary instructions?
“Where do you think you’re going?” A loud voice rang out from behind you that made your heart skip a beat. You turned slowly on the ball of your heel, already trying to come up with an excuse for your wandering.
Instead of a teacher, a familiar devious smile graced the face of Draco Malfoy.
“Asshole.” You grinned.
Draco opened his arms and you ran into them. His arms firmly wrapped around your waist, and he picked you up and spun you around in a circle. Your face was buried in the crook of his neck, and the smell of his cologne and shampoo filled your nose. When he finally put your feet back on the ground and he tried to pull away, you held on and rocked the two of you side to side for a moment. “Hiiiiiiiiiii,” you giggled.
“Hiiiiiiiiiii,” he said back, mimicking your tone. You finally pulled back, and found his grey eyes alight with excitement even in the dim corridor. He kissed your forehead, his hands coming up to cup both sides of your face. You sighed, looping your arms around his neck.
“Did you have a nice break?” You asked, moving to nip at his jawline.
“Mm, could’ve been better,” he hummed, his thumb brushing your cheek as you planted another kiss on his neck, before moving towards his lips. “Ah! Not here. Tapestry.” He pulled just out of your reach.
“Not my fault you picked a place I don’t know about.”
“You were close, come, it’s just down this way.” Draco untangled himself from you and took your hand.
“Carry me?” You asked sweetly.
He sighed. “Fine. Hop up.”
You rode piggyback style down the hall, shoving your face into Draco’s hair as he walked. “Your shampoo is so nice,” you mumble. “I wanna smell your hair all the time.
“Thank you, I suppose. Hey, are you biting me!” He laughed as your tapped your teeth against his head.
“No, but maybe I will.” You leaned down and gently bit on Draco’s neck, the bit of skin between the collar of his sweater and his hair. You flicked your tongue across his skin and you heard him take in a sharp breath through his nose.
“You can’t wait two seconds can you?” Draco let you down and pulled aside the tapestry. You were surprised to see this one had a window behind it, bright moonlight illuminating the space behind the thick cloth. Draco spun you around in front of the window and dropped the edge of the tapestry behind him, sealing you off from the hall.
You grabbed his hands and pulled him towards you again, attaching your lips back onto his jaw. Draco’s hands came to rest on your hips, his thumbs tracing circles on the skin just above the waistband of your leggings.
“I thought about you all holiday,” he whispered as your lips traveled down his neck, your nail tracing patterns on the opposite side.
“I thought about you, too,” you said between kisses.
Draco dipped his head down, and you found yourself level with his mouth instead of his collarbone. Your lips met in a much anticipated kiss. It felt like the time between your last kiss with Draco had been even longer than your last kiss with your ex.
You tangled your hands into Draco’s fine hair, and his voice rumbled in pleasure, his fingers digging into your back. In the back of your mind you were acutely aware that you were making out with Draco Malfoy, a fact that was still hard to believe some times. You’d spent most of your break wondering if you’d just imagined the feel of his body pressed against yours, but now that you were back together it felt better than you’d remembered.
You turned your bodies so Draco’s back was to the wall, and pushed him gently down so he was sitting on the edge of the window sill with you between his legs. It was a high window, but it made your bodies more in line since he was a bit taller than you. You undid the top two buttons of his uniform shirt, and his hands traveled further up under your sweatshirt. He sighed, letting his head lean back against the glass as you peppered kisses across his collarbone. Time for some payback.
You kissed until your lips were swollen. You didn’t check your watch to look at the time, but it had certainly been a while. Now, you just stood against each other in a loose hug, Draco’s chin resting on the top of your head while you both gazed out the window and talked.
“I hope you didn’t give me any love bites above my collar, or I’ll kill you.” Draco said.
“Nah, I was careful,” you promised. “Better watch yourself in the Quidditch changing rooms, though.”
Draco let out a short laugh. “Noted.”
You lapsed back into comfortable silence for a moment before you spoke again. “Draco, what are we gonna do when classes start? We’ll have homework and I can’t just be leaving the dorms every night to take a walk or Alex will start getting suspicious. I can’t hide much from her.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll come up with something,” Draco said comfortingly. “We’ll still see each other  during the day. Maybe we can go to Hogsmead together on Saturdays by ourselves.”
“Mmm, I do love chocolate,” you sighed.
“Me too.” Draco moved to kiss the top of your head. “Tell me more things I don’t know about you.”
You thought for a moment. “Let’s see… I’m from _______ back in the states, so that’s why my accent is so thick. I have no siblings. My mom’s a herbologist but the only thing she was able to teach me about plants was potions. And because I’m pretty decent at that I’m not bad at cooking. I absolutely hate riding brooms, but I love to ride horses.”
Draco pulled back to look at you, surprise painting his face. “You hate riding brooms? Why?”
“They’re scary!” You counter. “Those things are dangerous. You’re on a piece of magical wood that’s about as finicky as a new wand. I don’t trust them,” you huff.
Draco throws back his head and barks a laugh. “Are you serious? Did you ever learn to ride a broom properly? You have way more control over a broom than a horse.”
“Of course I learned, I was just shit at it so I stopped. Besides, horses are easier when you can talk to them.”
Draco’s eyes widened. “You can talk to horses?”
You nod. “I can talk to regular animals, but not magical ones."
“And how did this fact not take precedence over you knowing how to cook.”
You roll your eyes. “I forget some people don’t know that.”
“Right,” Draco teases back. “I’ll teach you how to ride a broom if you’d like.”
“Thanks, but no thanks.” You hug him a little tighter in what you hope is an encouraging way. “Heights scare me. You tell me something about you now.”
Draco sighs as he thinks. “I’m an only child, too. I can play the piano, and I’ve never tried to cook because we have house elves at home who do everything for us. Maybe I’d be good at it because I am good at potions, I dunno. I wish I could play Quidditch when I graduate, but I think father expects me to be like him and take a job at the Ministry.”
“‘Father’?” You raise an eyebrow. “Damn, you must hate your parents.”
Draco tilts his head to the side. “Hate is a strong word. My mother is nice.”
“You still said father, though. People only say that when they really hate their parents. At least in America we do. Or is your family like, one of those super-fancy and super-formal British families?”
“Fine, maybe a little of both,” he concedes. “But definitely the fancy British family part. That’s how all- well, most Pureblood families are here.”
You stiffen at the word ‘Pureblood’. “Wait, are you…?” You trail off.
Draco looks confused. “A Pureblood? Yes. Why?”
You stare back out the window, then look at back him. “I just… I guess that makes sense. That’s why your hair is like, unnaturally pale.”
“Yes, but what else? Do you not know any Purebloods at Ilvermorny?” Draco’s brow furrowed.
“No, there’s plenty.” You weren’t sure how to tell him this without hurting his feelings. “Just… in America, for a long time, there were laws made by the Magical Congress that Witches and Wizards couldn’t marry a No-Maj, in order to protect wizarding society in the new world. Eventually people realized those laws were dated, and in like the late 20’s they were repealed. Blood purity pretty much became unimportant across the country except in the South.” You shook your head a little. “Both Magical people and No-Maj’s from the South are crazy, but that’s another story. I guess what I’m trying to get at is now there aren’t a lot of Pureblood families in America anymore. Most everyone has at least one No-Maj in their family tree. I do know some Purebloods back at home but…” You cringed a little at what you were about to say. “People call them inbreds.”
Draco looked horrified.
“Not that I think that about you!” You said quickly, waving your hands. “All of them are perfectly nice, and only some of their parents are weird about the blood-purity thing. It’s not a big deal, honestly. I don’t think you family heritage could make you a bad person, Pureblood or not, that’s just being judgemental. That’s just what some people say.”
Draco blinked. “Okay.”
You felt awful. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t want to make you feel bad.” You stood on your tiptoes and kissed his cheek before putting your hands on either side of his face. “I do not think of Purebloods like that.”
“It’s alright, y/n.” Draco smiled softly down at you, putting one of his hands on top of yours that was still resting on his cheek.
“Is it though? I’m really sorry, maybe I shouldn’t’ve-”
“Y/n! It’s okay, I promise,” Draco said. “I’m glad you said something. Better to know this way then have it explained to me with a bunch of other people around.”
“Okay,” you sighed, pulling Draco’s hand down to kiss the back of it. “I’m still sorry though.”
“What for! The y/n I know two weeks ago would make fun of my entire bloodline with no remorse. You saying anything nice to me I consider a gift.” He winked.
That made you smile. “Okay, true. I guess I just can’t burn you one second and make out with you the next.”
“Who said I wouldn’t like it if you did?”
“Says the part of me who learned the golden rule when I was six.”
Draco went back to looking confused. “The what?”
“Nevermind,” you sigh. “I don’t want it to be too different between us now, but I want it to be a little different.”
“Yeah, me either.” Draco went back to resting his chin on your head. “We’ll figure it out.”
When you both felt your eyes closing, you went your separate ways to your dorms. Alex was back in your room when you returned.
“You feeling any better? Where’d you go?” Alex asked.
“Just to the nurse, she gave me something for my stomach. I’m feeling fine now.”
“Okay, that’s good,” she said, pulling off her shoes and grabbing her book from her nightstand.
“How was HHR?” You asked.
“Good, except I can’t tell if Harry has a crush on me or not?”
“I thought Harry liked that girl in Ravenclaw? You and Chris play Quidditch with?"
“Cho? Yeah so did I.”
“Weird.” You shrug. “Okay, I’m tired as hell. G’night.”
“Nighty night.”
Alex stayed up and read her book, and you kept your back to her and pretended to sleep. You hoped Draco would come up with a new plan for you guys to meet, because hiding this from Alex was going to be very difficult.
The rest of January came and went without much excitement. You and Draco regularly met up at night, or sometimes in the middle of the day on Tuesdays when you both had a free block before lunch. So far, you were avoiding major suspicion.
The most you’d been asked about it was by Hermione, who seemed frustrated you and Draco were doing so well in potions. You managed to convince her your ‘truce’ about fighting each other made it much easier to work together in class, and she’d finally let it go. Even Alex had stopped asking where you were going at night sometimes.
The third weekend in February brought one of the more anticipated Quidditch matches of the year, at least for the people you knew. The Ravenclaw/ Slytherin match. In Quidditch trials in September, both Alex and Chris had won spots on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, the only two Ilvermorny students out of the six who tried out. The Gryffindor team had regained their players from last year, minus one student who’d graduated, and Alex was sad at first she wouldn’t get to play on the same team as Harry, Ginny and Ron. However, the Ravenclaw captain had said they’d been struggling as a team for the past two years, and with Chris as a Beater and Alex as a Chaser, they’d beat Hufflepuff easily back in November.
As Chris and Alex brought Ravenclaw success, the rest of the Exchange students had adopted a strong pro-Ravenclaw attitude where the subject of Quidditch concerned. You had been excited for the Ravenclaw/Slytherin match since your friends made the team, and at first it was so you could watch them beat Draco’s team into the dirt.
Now that wasn’t quite the case, but you were still excited.
“Y/n, you wearing that green scarf is honestly no better than you coming and telling me you’ve become a Death Eater,” Ron bemoaned as the four of you walked down to the pitch.
“I told you, I have equal stake in this match. I’ve got on more blue anyway! Let me live, Ron.”
“Okay, sure, you and Malfoy are cool now, or whatever, but this is Quidditch we’re talking about. Don’t you know this could be bad karma for the whole game!” Ron cried.
“Seriously. Potions class is one thing, but Quidditch support is only something couples do, you know.”
Harry got a smack on the back of the head for that one.
Hermione and Ron laughed while you defended yourself. You were nearly to the pitch when you heard your name being called.
“Y/n! Y/N! GUYS WAIT UP!”
You turned to see Emi running down the hill with short strides, her long Slytherin scarf about to trip her with every step. She’d wrapped it around her neck several times but the edges were still brushing along the snowy ground. Emi finally caught up to the four of you, and she clutched your arm to steady herself as you all started walking again. You noticed she had a small Ravenclaw flag clutched in her hand.
“Emi! Are you double-teaming too?” You asked with surprise.
“Yeah,” Emi smiled. “For Chris! But don’t tell anyone else in Slytherin, though. I’ll be hung in the common room by my toes before the match is even over,” she added, suddenly very serious.
“Okay.” You turned to the trio. “See! I’m not the only one. Embrace the interhouse harmony, guys.”
“Oh, yeah, I bet you have this exact same attitude at Ilvermorny Quidditch games, too,” Ron grumbled.
“Come this way,” Emi said, pulling you along the outside wall of the pitch. “We need to sit on the end, so we can be be where the two sides will meet. That way we can be equally supportive.”
Emi led the way to the end of the pitch, and planted herself right in the middle of the box, the trio following behind you. The mixed-team box was mostly filled with people you didn’t know, who were from Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. “So, Chris huh?” You asked, gently nudging Emi with your elbow.
Emi’s face remained passive as she surveyed the crowd that wound around the pitch. “He’s just my friend. It’s nice to have someone to talk to who isn’t complaining. My dorm mates are so fucking annoying,” she sighed. “Pansy never shuts her mouth. Don’t tell her I said that.”
You giggled.
“What about you huh?” She turned to you, her eyebrows going up in a suggestive way. “I hear you and Draco are mates now, and here you are with the green scarf. Is it his?”
“No! Draco and I are also just friends. Sort of. I mean we get along now but we’re not like, buddies or anything,” you say. Emi just looks at you for a long moment before turning back to the pitch.
“Is the Slytherin team any good? I didn’t come to that match last term.” You say to Emi.
“Yes, we’re very good. Well, we are now. We got a new keeper two years ago who’s very good, and Draco has been a great Seeker since last year. He was awful before that-maybe he learned over the summer or something,” Emi postulated.
“It’s true. His dad bought him the Seeker position our first year and Harry was way better than him. Still is.” Ron interjected, leaning down to poke his head between you and Emi.
“Okay, well, we won the Quidditch cup last year Weasley, so what’s really important?” Emi said haughtily.
Before Ron could respond, the pitch erupted into cheers as the two teams came out. Two towers across from each other on the pitch, one green and the other blue, had a tiny open spot halfway down where the teams emerged from. The Ravenclaw team flew off first, weaving around the pitch to get everyone excited. Alex dramatically jumped off the tower, pulling her broom under her and soaring off at the last second. The five of you jumped to your feet and started hollering as Chris and Alex flew by.
Slytherin came out next, flying in their diamond formation. Even with all the snow, you spotted Draco in the front by his white hair, leading the team as the Seeker. As they passed by, you and Emi screamed your cheers.
“Welcome to the fourth Quidditch match of this school year! Today’s match- Ravenclaw vs Slytherin!” The student announcer called, her voice echoing around the pitch.
The Quidditch referee, a teacher you didn’t know, trudged out onto the snowy pitch and put down the box with the balls. It vibrated in anticipation of being opened. The two teams hovered in a circle around her, the Ravenclaw team in front of you. Alex’s red hair in it’s double braids stood out against the grey sky. The teacher opened the box, and out flew the Snitch and the two Bludgers. Draco and Cho, Ravenclaw’s seeker, watched the tiny golden ball zip away. The referee threw the Quaffle into the air, and the game began.
Alex, lithe and quick on her broom, snatched the Quaffle from the air, leaving a crash of Slytherin players in her wake. The one other Ravenclaw chasers flew off after her, as well as Chris to protect her from oncoming Bludgers.
Ron had told you the Slytherin team played dirty, and they were certainly committing some fouls that were going uncaught. Ravenclaw was not to be underestimated though, and Chris and his fellow beater were landing multiple shots of the Bludgers onto oncoming Slytherin chasers.
Roughly twenty minutes into the game, the teams were tied thirty to thirty. Neither Cho nor Draco had been able to relocate the snitch since the beginning of the game. Both players were hanging around the edges of the pitch, scanning the horizon for any sign of the golden ball. Draco had his arms crossed, and was looking frustrated. Across the pitch, Alex scored another goal for Ravenclaw and you whooped.
“Oi, this is slow going,” Ron complained.
“It hasn’t been half an hour yet, Ron,” Hermione pointed out. “Last game was nearly two hours!”
“Yeah, and besides, Ravenclaw is in the lead again. Alex is so fast,” you said, watching your friend zip across the pitch, doing a corkscrew in celebration of her goal.
“She could be a Seeker,” Harry mused.
“I think she likes the teamwork of being a Chaser,” you replied.
A gasp went up from across the pitch, and your caught the moment just in time. One of the Slytherin beaters, Crabbe, had hit a Bludger Chris’s way. He moved to hit it away with his bat, but it hit him square in the face instead. Chris managed to stay on his broom but was sent spinninging sideways. When he righted himself he swiped a sleeve across his face- the sapphire fabric was stained with blood. Emi clutched your arm with worry, and you squeezed her hand to reassure her. All of the crowd who could see Chris’s bloody face all booed Crabbe.
“I’m going to punch Crabbe in the nose for that,” Emi growled under her breath.
“I’ll lift you up,” added Ron.
“Oh, shut up.”
In the time that everyone was distracted by Chris and Crabbe’s altercation on the end of the pitch, a Slytherin Chaser had scored a goal.
“The game is tied again, forty to forty,” The announcer called. “Neither of our Seekers have spotted the Snitch yet.”
Indeed. Another ten minutes passed by, with more goals scored. Your eyes were following Alex around the pitch, and she was about to catch a pass from her fellow Chaser when Harry gasped from behind you. “Guys, look up!”
You all tilted your heads back, and were shocked into momentary silence. Harry’s keen Seeker eyes had spotted the Snitch, hovering over your stand several feet above you all. From Cho and Draco’s high vantage point, the Snitch was sure to blend in with the crowd. You whipped your head back to the pitch. Draco and Cho still hovered high, oblivious.
“CHO!” Harry yelled. “CHO! THE SNITCH!”
You thought Cho was too far to hear him. As expected, Cho didn’t turn your way. But Hermione and Ron quickly joined him.
“CHO! CHO!”
Emi looked conflicted for a moment, then seemed to remember her house pride. She screeched at the top of her tiny lungs. “DRACOOOOOOO!”
All your friends were screaming, Ron’s pale face turning red from it. Emi waved her arms wildly, and you made a decision. “DRACO!” You screamed. “DRACO MALFOY!”
Finally, the ruckus you were all causing in the box finally caught the attention of the Seekers. They both looked briefly to your side, wondering if it was just enthusiastic cheering, but all five of you pointed up. Emi started jumping.
They reacted immediately, both coming towards the box at lightning speed. Draco and Cho closed in, and the Snitch zipped from side to side. Everyone in the box screeched, ducking down as the two Quidditch players zoomed overhead. The whoosh of wind blew your hair all about your face, and you brushed it aside to look up again. The Snitch was gone.
Everyone scrambled up, craning their necks as the Seekers came around from outside the pitch to see who’d gotten it, but they were both still in pursuit. The Snitch was flying fast now, into the center where the rest of the players were. Now everyone around the pitch was screaming, the announcer barely able to keep up with all the action.
Draco and Cho were swift, but most of the other players were not. The other Slytherin beater hit a Bludger that was meant for Cho, but hit Draco instead when he suddenly moved down. The force sent him sideways into Cho, and Alex, holding the Quaffle, was trying to dodge them, but she ended up catching the front of her broomstick on Cho’s body, sending all three of them flying off their brooms in various directions. They all landed in the snowy ground in puffs of white.
Everyone gasped collectively. Alex and Draco lay limp in the snow, while Cho cried out in pain, holding her middle. The pitch got quiet for a moment as the other players stopped, with the Quaffle still tucked under Alex’s arm out of play. Cho rolled to the side, her dark hair spread out around her head in the snow like a halo. She lifted one of her arms up from her stomach. Clutched in her fist was the shimmering Snitch.
The hospital wing was very full. Chris had to have his nose reset; Cho had a bruised stomach; Draco was nursing a headache and a split lip, and Alex had sprained her wrist. You and the Trio were standing around Alex who was sitting on a bed in the wing, waiting her turn for a healing spell from Madame Pomfrey.
“You played brilliant Alex,” Ron said, brimming with excitement.
“Yeah, you and Chris are the Ravenclaw dream team.” You beamed.
“Hell yeah, you know it.” Alex offered up her good hand for a high five, and you slapped your palms together.
“I’m seriously so proud of you,” Ginny said. “Your second win of the year!”
Alex smiled. “I’m definitely reporting this all back to Cameron back home- the Thunderbird team doesn’t know what they’re missing.”
Madame Pomfrey stepped around the curtain that divided the beds. You got up from where you were sitting near Alex, so she could have room to treat her. Across the room, Chris had already had his nose reset. He was sitting on his bed, wiping dried blood off his face with a wet washcloth. His free hand was clasped in Emi’s, who was sitting close on the bed next to him, and you smiled to yourself.
“I’ll be back,” you said to Hermione, who was standing next to you, and walked around the foot to Alex’s bed and to the other side of the curtain.
Draco sat on the side of his bed, legs crossed underneath him. His lip had been healed, but he was holding a cloth full of ice to his temple.
“Hey,” you said settling down into the chair next to the bed
“Hey,” he replied. “Thanks for helping me during the game.”
You shrugged. “Well, Emi isn’t loud enough on her own. Besides, it was only fair. Are you okay? That looked like a nasty collision.” Your forehead creased with concern.
Now it was Draco’s turn to shrug. “I’ve had worse. The snow didn’t make it so bad, and we were close the the ground anyway. I’ll be sore tomorrow, though.” He stretched his back, as if already feeling it. “Landed on my left shoulder really hard.”
“I told you brooms are dangerous.” You smirked.
Draco rolled his eyes. “This is Quidditch. If you were riding a broom normally, your chances of getting hurt lower considerabl- hey, quit that!” He reached out to smack your arm, catching you mouthing the words along with him in a mocking way.
You both laughed, smile lines forming around Draco’s eyes and cheeks. They were the cutest thing.
You scooted to the edge of your chair, taking Draco’s hand. You leaned your elbow on the bed next to you, resting your cheek on his knuckles. “When you were both coming towards us, I thought that…” you trailed off when Draco put a finger to his lips to silence you. For a second, you were confused, but then Draco pointed to the curtain separating his and Alex’s beds. All was quiet on the other side. Too quiet.
You let go of Draco’s hand and yanked back the curtain. Hermione, Ron, Harry and Alex were all perched on the near side of the bed, obviously listening. You leaned back into your chair, and Draco brought the ice back up to his temple. “Hey guys. Want to join our conversation?”
Ron started blushing, and Hermione and Harry averted their eyes. Alex stared you down with a calculating look on her face. You pulled the curtain back across between you, and you and Draco immediately started giggling again.
You go up from your chair. “Feel better. I’ll see you later.”
“Bye.”
You quickly glanced across the room. Emi and Chris were still engrossed in each other. You planted a quick kiss on the top of Draco’s head and left the hospital wing.

here we go again (m)
Content: Ryan Haywood, a wedding, and a hotel room. Word Count: 1.6k
It only ever happens at weddings.
Maybe it’s because Ryan looks especially enticing in a suit, or maybe because the loneliness always manages to creep in when you watch a happy couple have their first dance, swirling around in other completely oblivious to their onlookers. Or maybe it’s the champagne you’ve drunk, fizzing through your bloodstream and making you feel lightheaded in the best possible way.
It’s late now, though, and there’s no sign of him. It’s possible he could have left with someone else, the party is definitely starting to die down- the guests with children have already left, as well the table of ridiculously drunk girls that flashed everyone earlier on the dance floor. You can see from the table where you sit now that the dance floor is still mostly full, couples pressing their smiles into each other’s cheeks and friends linking arms in a group.
Your friend beckons you over to join her, but you deny with a shake of your head and gesture for her to carry on; you seriously overestimated your pain tolerance of your heels and you haven’t had anywhere near the amount of alcohol you’d have to consume in order to go barefoot on the dance floor where god knows how much drink has been split in the past two hours. She flips you off with a grin at your reluctance before someone else drags her into their group and you lose her in the crowd.
5 minutes and you’ll head off, you decide, slightly bitter about the lack of Ryan. At least you’d make the most of your own hotel room, you reason, and you’d be able to get changed into your comfy pyjamas that you almost didn’t bother to bring with you.
“Y/N?” You turn to see him approaching you from behind, a glass in each hand and a soft smile on his lips, “Any chance this pity party for one can accommodate another lonely soul? I come with gifts of wine and my dazzling personality.”
“So you’ve managed to get yourself a new personality since I last saw you?” You grin, accepting the wine he offers you as he takes a seat next to you.
“I’ll let that one slide. Come on then, why are you sitting here all alone?”
“If you must know my feet are in serious protest of anything that doesn’t involve sitting down at the moment.”
“Don’t you worry, baby, I’ll give you a piggyback ride out of here later. In exchange for a ride of your own, of course.” He waggles his eyebrows suggestively and you roll your eyes.
“My feet are feeling miraculously better, now that I think about it.”
“Ah, why must you be so cruel? I come here in search of refuge from the constant PDA my poor eyes have been subjected to and all I get is your cruel, cruel attitude.” His eyes smile at you, twinkling slightly in the dim light.
“All this complaining,” You set your glass down on the table softly, “And yet you keep coming back.”
His eyes capture yours.
“And yet I keep coming back.”
The both of you barely manage to get through the door of his hotel room before your body is pushed up against the wall and Ryan’s hands are fumbling with the material of your long dress. His kisses you desperately, deeply and so passionately that you have no choice but to let him ravage you. He bunches the material of your dress up and presses his still clothed hips against you. His mouth leaves yours and it leaves you gasping.
Your chest rises with every intake of breath, which doesn’t go unnoticed by his appraising eyes. He’s almost transfixed for a moment, before he grinds his hips into you, slowly and deliberately with a smirk that should be illegal. Your head thuds gently against the wall as he repeats the motion, rolling his body into yours this time.
His mouth re-attaches itself to you, kissing ferociously at your neck until you’re keening into him. You moan into the stagnant air of the room as presses himself against you, high on the feeling of his cock straining against his clothing for you. His teeth graze your neck and your moan is broken, a gasp overtaking it.
“Fuck, Y/N, you have no fucking idea what you’re doing to me,” He whispers harshly into your ear, “You sound so fucking hot.”
You groan involuntarily at his words and he adjusts himself so that only one of his thighs is between your legs. His hand slides between you and his thigh to push your panties to the side, stroking gently- too gently over your folds. You whimper and buck your hips against his teasing finger, but he pulls away with a smug look on his face and trails his now wet finger down your inner thigh.
“Be a good girl and get on the bed for me.”
You nod, not trusting your voice, and clamour onto the freshly made bed. A brief question of how he wants you crosses your mind for a second, but it’s put to rest when Ryan flips you over onto your back and hitches your dress up to your waist before helping you to pull it over your still heaving chest and take it off properly.
“Oh, sweetheart, matching underwear? All for me? It’s almost a shame I’m going to take it off now.”
True to his words, your bra is unclasped and thrown away from you, replaced by his warm tongue flicking over your nipples until he decides they’re hard enough. He blows cold air over your damp skin making your body shiver against the soft sheets.
He pulls you into a sitting position as he buries his face between your breasts, the compliments he’s showering you with lost as they are muffled by your overheated skin. He groans against you, the vibrations running deliciously down your entire body. You reach for him, yet your hands don’t even properly brush against him before he shifts his hips away from you
“Ryan,” You breath, voice soft and feathery, “Let me take care of you. Please.”
“Not until I’m done with you,” He growls in response, pushing you down into a lying position again and peeling off your panties.
“Fucking beautiful,” Ryan whispers, so quiet you’re not sure if it was even for your ears. He settles himself between your thighs, looking up at you with a look you could easily pretend isn’t just lust. He points his tongue and flicks at your clit once. He barely touches you but you twitch into him, chasing his tongue as he pulls back with a small chuckle.
“You want my mouth, baby?”
You nod desperately and shift your hips in anticipation.
He shakes his head, “C’mon baby, let me hear your pretty little voice. Beg for me to eat you out like I know you can.”
“Fuck, please touch me. Please, Ryan-”
At the sound of his own name passing through your lips, he dives into your pussy, tongue wide and flat and licking your clit like he’s a dying man and you’re his last meal. Your hands tangle into his hair and you press yourself into his mouth. He groans against you, rubbing his still clothed body against the bed as you writhe into him.
He runs his finger through your folds, coating it in your wetness before he pushes it into you, curling it to hit that spot in you that leaves you panting and begging him for more. He adds another and crooks them slightly before rubbing against you hard enough to force sob out of you.
“Ry, please, fuck me. Fuck, I need you, please,” Your eyes shine with unshed tears as your body teeters on the edge of what’s sure to be an explosive orgasm. Ryan only smiles up at you sweetly and purses his lips to kiss at your clit while his fingers dance deep inside you. You tug his head to pull him away from your pussy, “Please, Ryan, fuck me.”
“Sweetheart, let go for me and then I promise I’ll fuck you as hard as you can take,” He tears his gaze away from between your legs to maintain eye contact with you. As you nod your head shakily he returns to your wet heat, his tongue laving over you lazily for a second before he presses himself into you harder and works his tongue and fingers in synchronised strokes that spread throughout your entire body.
The warmth that’s been building up inside you snaps, and your body judders as you finally succumb to the pleasure. Ryan continues to lick at you until you stop shuddering and lie back in an attempt to catch your breath.
“I always forget how gorgeous you look when you come,” He says into your inner thigh. He presses kisses against your skin, smiling up at you with a look entirely too innocent for the words he just uttered.
“I always forget how disgustingly sweet you can be,” You reply.
He grins up at you, “Just for you, sweet pea.” He sits himself up and gestures to his erection, “So how about that ride?”
You wake up in rumpled bed sheets, last night’s makeup and Ryan’s arms. A quick look at the clock tells you that you’ve just about got time to get dressed, run to your room and throw your belongings into your case to hand your keys in at checkout. You ease out of Ryan’s embrace, smiling at the way his nose scrunches slightly in his sleep.
You tiptoe around the room collecting your clothing from where they had been thrown last night. Once you’re dressed and feeling considerably more hungover than you were when you first woke you grab a pen to write a note on the hotel notepad- as is the tradition when leaving Ryan’s hotel room the morning after.
You gather your belongings and head out of the door, leaving the note on the pillow where you slept.
Word on the grapevine is Gavin’s going to pop the question. Pencil in our next date?
